G1 Logistics MAN D38

Penske Commercial Vehicles has delivered a fleet of 10 MAN TGX-D38 trucks to G1 Logistics in Mildura, Victoria.

A subsidiary of GTS Freight Management, G1 Logistics will use the D38s, the first MANs in their fleet, to service national linehaul requirements.

“After we launched the D38 in Australia a year ago, we provided G1 with a demo model that they were very impressed with, and that led to the fleet deal,” said Kevin Dennis, managing director of Penske Commercial Vehicles.

“Over the last year, the feedback we received on the D38 has been very positive, both from owner drivers and fleet operators.

“In April we announced that we had partnered with the Marshall Group dealership in Mildura who will provide experienced specialised service support to all our customers in that region including G1.

“Penske’s approach is to always put our customers first and our wide-reaching dealership network is a key factor in achieving this.”

With an extensive suite of driver comfort and safety features, and impressive fuel efficiency, the heavy-duty D38 is well suited to G1’s expanding operations.

“We have a fleet of around 150 trucks at the moment but as our operations have expanded, we have needed to bolster our fleet with high horsepower, heavy duty trucks and the D38 has ticked those boxes,” said Damien Matthews, managing director of GTS Freight Management.

“As we have rolled out the 10 D38s into our fleet, our drivers have provided great feedback on the trucks, particularly the lack of road noise, the soft ride making for a comfortable experience, and great fuel economy and trip times. Overall, feedback from drivers has been extremely positive.

“The level of communication between Penske and GTS has been first class throughout the entire process.

“Everyone at Penske has been very helpful in introducing my team to the D38 and getting our drivers comfortable in the new trucks.”
