Penske Power Systems appoints new Director Off-Highway

Penske Power Systems, a leading distributor of diesel and gas engines and power systems across Australia and New Zealand, is pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew Smith to the position of Director Off-Highway, focusing on the mining, marine, industrial, rail, defence and power generation markets.

The role was vacated by Hamish Christie-Johnston in January following his promotion to the position of Managing Director, Penske Power Systems.

Commencing in the role today, Matthew will manage Penske Power Systems’ off-highway sales, aftersales and engineering services.

“Matt has an extensive and varied background in senior commercial and leadership roles in mining and related fields,” said Hamish.

“Matt is also passionate about improving how businesses work with customers, which, when combined with his qualifications in law and commerce, make him a great fit for Penske.”

Keen to join Penske Power Systems, Matthew acknowledged the strong platform already in place in the off-highway team.

“In addition to delivering a superior product, Penske is renowned for its customer-focused philosophy which is aligned with my passion to develop successful relationships and high performing teams,” said Matthew.

“I look forward to contributing to the Penske Power Systems business and building upon this great foundation.”

Matthew comes to Penske Power Systems having most recently worked in senior management roles at Orica and Westrac.
